Are you interested in exploring religious life? Here's your chance to spend time with sisters from several communities, hear their stories and ask questions. We will travel and spend time at convents in Dubuque IA and Sinsinawa WI. There will be time for prayer, personal reflection, shared meals and conversation! This event is open to single women ages 18-45.
Whether you have a beginning curiosity about religious life or are seriously discerning the possibility, this event is for you.

Praying with the Sisters
Pray the Sunday scripture with other women of faith and Catholic Sisters on the last Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM CT. The time includes a short introduction, an opening prayer, reading of scripture and sharing in the style of lectio divina, journaling or silent reflection, and offering prayer intentions. This online event is designed for single women ages 18-45. Hosted by Dubuque Area Vocation Association (DAVA).

Ask a DAVA member to come to your campus! DAVA members regularly serve as spiritual companions at Busy Person Retreats and give talks to college classes. They are also able to meet with discernment groups, give retreats, and be present to get to know students. Contact us today!

Sixth grade students from several Dubuque area Catholic schools spend a day at Divine Word College Seminary in Epworth to learn about vocations.

Every other year, DAVA collaborates with area organizations to host one of the nationally known speakers from NCYC. While the program is specifically geared towards youth in grades 6 to 12, all can benefit from the presentation about “being on fire for our faith.”

DAVA members could give elementary, middle and high school presentations, confirmation retreats/presentations, religious education presentations, vocation panels, vocation awareness reflections, presentations for Vocation Awareness Week, Catholic Schools Week, etc. or collaboration with youth ministers and youth activities.
